The outstanding position of Burgos in the business structure of Castilla y León has enabled Caja de Burgos (a Spanish Savings Bank) to establish strong links with the companies in the province, a relation that has been extended in the last years to the companies in the whole region. Caja Burgos has focused its business stance from a wide perspective, participating not only in the sheer funding in industrial projects or in the capital structure of several companies, but also in the promotion of meetings for businessmen and executives, covering topics of general interest, as well as in the providing of analysis and consultancy services to these professionals.

This business view has been very welcomed among businessmen and enterprises, turning Burgos into a very receptive place in the field of companies management and other areas of innovation. At the same time, the city has advanced further in the strategic definition of the axes of its future development, throughout an already-concluded process of conciliation between the public administration and the economic and social agents. The University of Burgos has played a key role in this process; one of its priority lines of activity is the collaboration with the enterprises in projects of R&D and university students' insertion in the human capital of these companies.

In this context, the city of Burgos has considered it to be the right moment to take a further step towards its business development, holding an Economy and Managment Forum (FOROBURGOS) that will set itself up as an essential annual appointment for the entrepreneur scenario of Castilla y León. FOROBURGOS relies on the support of Caja de Burgos, the University of Burgos, and an Advisory Council, which will ensure the creation and continuation of this initiative.
